AB Steak opened and closed right before COVID-19 hit. Luckily, it is now reopened.

The vibe and the food are upscale, thank to Chef Akira Black, who has a Michelin starred restaurant in Seoul. There are giant cozy booths, pretty golden chandeliers and smokeless grills where servers cook meat perfectly and serve it up table side.

Dishes are served alongside home-made banchans including spicy radish and kimchi. Starters include the pretty and jiggly egg souffle with warm fluffy eggs, cheese and green onions; japchae marinated glass noodles with beef, onions, bell peppers, carrots and oyster mushrooms; yukkhea beef tartare with garlic, pine nuts, onion, bell peppers and a quail egg, shroom fries and a seafood scallion pancake with shrimp, mussels and squid with a spicy soy sauce. Our favorite was the comforting egg souffle.

There’s also plenty of soup, noodle and rice dishes to go along with all of the main meats, including a galbi fried rice with short rib, green, onion, oyster mushrooms and sesame seeds; spicy tofu jjigae with tofu, beef broth, steak, zucchini, garlic and egg; pork belly house kimchi fried rice and dwen jang jjigae rich soy bean stew. Our favorite was the galbi fried rice.

Servers will cook all of the food for the table and the innovative grills are build right into the tables so it’s easy to sit back, relax and watch the cooking show. Diners can choose from 30-day dry aged ribeye or camembert cheese aged New York strip loin; Wagyu brisket, Wagyu sirloin cap; Wagyu ribeye; bone-in short rib; boneless marinated short rib; port belly and A5 Wagyu olive strip loin. We loved the ribeye for it’s complex full flavors.

There’s also a shrimp platter with Black Tiger Jumbo shrimp and a vegetable platter with asparagus, onion, oyster mushroom and zucchini.

Cocktails include great custom in house libations including a perfect martini; an old fashioned with Wagyu washed Amber old scotch and bitters; a KHEE spritzer and premium sojus.

AB Steak is an elevated Korean barbecue experience great for a group of friends or for a special date night.
